It’s been a stressful quarter.
An incredible one, but I’m wiped out and down with some bug.
I guess that comes with getting in front of more people in three months than I did in the decade before last year. I can’t remember a busier or more populated time in my professional life.
Was your Q1 super-intense? It seems like it has been for many people.
Truly, the first part of this year was unsustainably fast-paced. Important things are underway but it took so much energy.
Which leads to the conundrum:
How can we keep up the momentum if we can’t keep up the pace?
Stress Playground
I’m trying something new and I really hope you’ll join me. This Thursday, April 4 at 10am Eastern, I’m co-facilitating a workshop focused on helping us solve this puzzle. Rather than trying to manage stress (or distract ourselves from it), we will look at stress from new angles and experiment in a low-stakes environment so we can find hidden solutions and ideas.
First we’ll invite calm, with tools like this 2-minute breath exercise I demo at this {LINK} with my co-facilitator and Host Perle Laouenan-Catchpole:
Then we’ll play with reflection and writing tools to broaden our perspectives and find pathways that might not have been obvious. Expect surprises and and at least one a-ha moment as we explore the different types of successes that are possible. ;)
Here’s an extra prompt if all this focus on stress is stressing you out:
Journal Prompt: What’s working?
Take 10 minutes to pat yourself on the back. What’s going well in your personal and professional life? Even in the midst of stress, what’s in a really good place? Maybe you have an awesome set of friends, great rapport with key colleagues, a solid cooking repertoire, or a personal style that makes you smile. Maybe you started a new routine you like or stayed consistent with a nourishing ritual. Where have you got a good thing going? What’s giving you energy right now?
I’d love to hear in the comments about the good things you’ve got going in the midst of stress.
Meet me at the Stress Playground
I’m thrilled to work with Perle and offer this type of experience. If you’ve been through my January Journaling Challenge or Boundaries Boot Camp, you know how much I love curating these journeys - and how transformative they can be. I’ve got some great tools to share, but I’m still new to getting the word out. If you’ve enjoyed this Substack or my classes and workshops, can you come check us out? Tickets are priced like a drop-in yoga class and you can bring a friend for free.
Come as you are and leave feeling amazing!
